Details

Day 1:

On arrival at Delhi International Airport, Terminal 3, you are met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. Time to rest and ease into India at your own pace. This first day adapts to your international flight time.

Day 2:

Drive to Agra on the expressway, about 230 km, 4 hours. After settling in, visit Agra Fort, the great red sandstone citadel, then stroll the local bazaar known for its marble craftsmanship.

Day 3:

Early start with the Taj Mahal at sunrise, one of the world’s most moving monuments. Then set off for Jaipur, about 250 km, 5 hours, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned red sandstone city that was once the Mughal capital. Continue to Jaipur, settle into your guesthouse and meet your yoga and meditation teacher.

Day 4:

Morning yoga and meditation. Discover Jaipur, the Rajasthan capital founded by the astronomer king Jai Singh II. See the Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, from the outside, then climb to the hilltop Amber Fort. In the afternoon, the Jantar Mantar observatory and the City Palace, then free time in the pink bazaars. In the evening, the old town and the Govind Dev Ji temple with its Aarti ceremony.

Day 5:

Morning yoga and meditation. Visit the hilltop forts of Jaigarh and Nahargarh for sweeping views over the city. In the evening, a cooking class and dinner with a local family, where you prepare kitchari, a traditional ayurvedic dish, alongside simple vegetarian recipes.

Day 6:

Morning yoga and meditation. Visit the Galta Ji temple and a local market, then an ayurvedic massage in the late morning and a free afternoon to follow your own desires.

Day 7:

Fly from Jaipur to Dehradun, where you are met and driven to Haridwar, one of the holiest cities on the Ganges. In the afternoon, visit Har Ki Pauri, and at dusk witness the Ganga Aarti, the river of light ceremony on the ghats.

Day 8:

Short transfer to Rishikesh, about 35 km, 1.5 hours, the world capital of yoga. Discover the town, the Lakshman Jhula footbridge and the banks of the Ganges, and take part in the evening riverside aarti before wandering the lively market. Yoga and meditation are included with your stay.

Night in Rishikesh, full board, vegetarian.

Days 9 to 13:

Five full days in an ashram on the banks of the Ganges, given over to yoga, meditation and rest. These are slow days with no vehicle or driver, so you can settle fully into the rhythm of the place. Yoga and meditation are included with your stay.

Nights in Rishikesh, full board, vegetarian.

Day 14:

Morning departure for Delhi. On arrival, visit the Lotus Temple, the Bahai House of Worship, and the white marble Bangla Sahib Gurudwara with its sacred tank, then browse the Tibetan market around Janpath.

Night in Delhi, breakfast included.

Day 15:

A final morning in the capital: the towering Qutub Minar, the Birla temple and the peaceful Lodhi Gardens, with a last walk through the markets around Connaught Place. Transfer to the international airport for your return flight.

Domestic flights limit checked baggage to 15 kg and cabin baggage to 7 kg, with any excess charged at the airport.

From April to October the heat is strong, so frequent hydration matters. Indian roads can be slow, so journey times may run longer than estimated.

The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.


When to go

North India and Rajasthan are most comfortable from October to March, with mild, dry days. April to June is very hot, and the monsoon brings rain from July to September. The yoga and ashram focus of this journey works across the year, and we will advise the best window for your dates.
