Details
Day 1:
Upon arrival at SJO International Airport, you will be met by our partner to take you to your hotel in the heart of San José. Discover the capital of Costa Rica and get over the jetlag.
Night in San José, breakfast included.
Day 2:
Departure from the hotel at a previously indicated time to the area of Guapiles where you will have a typical Costa Rican breakfast. We will continue our trip through banana plantations and small towns of the area before arriving at the dock where you will board the boats to navigate the Tortuguero canals to the lodge. In the afternoon you can visit the small turtle museum, the beach and the village of Tortuguero.
Night in Tortuguero National Park, full pension included.
Day 3:
During this day you will take a boat tour through the Tortuguero canals where you will have the chance to admire the wide biodiversity of the area. Departure from the hotel in Tortuguero at mid-morning. We will stop for lunch in the area of Guapiles and you will take the road to La Fortuna. The road will take about 2 hours before arriving in the city of the Arenal Volcan. Settle in your hotel and enjoy its facilities.
Night in La Fortuna, breakfast included.
Day 4:
After the breakfast, we suggest that you take advantage of the activities that La Fortuna offers. You can go for a walk/hike and do activities in the Arenal Volcano National Park, go to the famous waterfall and take a swim, walk through the streets of the city center or go to the Paso Salto river… La Fortuna is also well-known for its natural hot springs, feel free to try it! Day 5:
Change of setting! Take the road after the breakfast for Manuel Antonio. You will have for about 4h30 of road, following the Pacific coast… Splendid landscapes will highlight the road. Settle in in your hotel and feel the “Pura Vida” that everyone is talking about.

Day 6 & 7:
Ready to discover the Manuel Antonio National Park and its surroundings? Manuel Antonio National Park combines rainforest, coral reef and white sand beach. What is included in the 8 Days in Costa Rica price?

Prices are land only.
Is 8 days enough for a first trip to Costa Rica?
Yes. This circuit is built as a first overview of the country: it combines the capital San José, the canals and wildlife of Tortuguero, the Arenal Volcano area around La Fortuna and the beaches of Manuel Antonio in a single week, without long empty transfer days.
Should I choose bus transfers or a rental car for this circuit?
Bus transfers, from $1,015 per person, are the simplest option: every leg is organized for you. The rental car option, from $1,090 per person, includes a 4×4 with full insurance and gives you complete freedom between La Fortuna and Manuel Antonio. Tortuguero is reached by boat in both cases.
How do you get to Tortuguero National Park?
Tortuguero has no road access. On day 2 you travel by road through the Guapiles area and banana plantations to a river dock, then board a boat that navigates the Tortuguero canals to your lodge in the middle of the rainforest.
When is the best time to do this circuit?
The dry season, from December to April, is the sunniest and the most popular. The green season, especially May, June, September and October, offers lower prices, greener landscapes and sunny mornings with afternoon showers. Costa Rica counts around 150 microclimates, so conditions vary by region in every season.
Are meals included in the circuit?
Breakfast is included every day, and Tortuguero is on full board. Lunches and dinners outside Tortuguero are not included, which leaves you free to explore the local restaurants recommended in your AZORA GUIDE.
Are international flights included?
No. All prices are land only. International flights are arranged separately, and our team can assist you in finding the best routing to San José (SJO).
