Day 1:

At the airport, one of our representatives will be waiting to accompany you to your hotel in Bajos del Toro, in the central volcanic region.

Overnight at El Silencio Lodge in a Deluxe Suite with a fresh breakfast included.

Day 2:

We will leave you at leisure to have the chance to explore the area, enjoy the hotel facilities and of course enjoy every moment in the middle of the nature.

Overnight at El Silencio Lodge in a Deluxe Suite with a fresh breakfast included.

Day 3:

You’ll be picked up early by our representative for the approximate 2,5 hour drive through the city and countryside to the Pacuare River put-in. After an orientation by your river guide, you’ll begin an exciting 1,5 hour river-rafting trip (class II-III rapids) past impressive tropical landscapes to the Pacuare Lodge, Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge, which will be your home for the next two nights. You’ll arrive at the lodge around 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm, in time for a delicious lunch. After lunch, you can hike through the lodge’s protected forest with your guide to an idyllic waterfall, take the Canopy Adventure or one of the other optional tours (not included in package price), get a massage or other treatment at the Jawa Juü Spa, or simply relax in your private bungalow or suite and enjoy the tropical nature and tranquility of this remote and beautiful place. After savoring an exquisite candlelight dinner, you may want to pop upstairs to our lounge for a drink before retiring for a restful night’s sleep.

Overnight at Pacuare Lodge in the River Suite with breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

Day 4:

You’ll awaken to birdsong and the soothing sound of the river. Head over to the main lodge for a hearty breakfast of homemade bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, gallo pinto, turrialba cheese, homemade granola, juice, coffee and tea complemented by a rainforest view. The lodge employs resident naturalist guides who can provide information about the plants and animals that inhabit the surrounding forest. This day is open for enjoying one or more of the lodge’s optional tours (not included in package price). Nature lovers may want to start before breakfast with a daybreak birdwatching tour. Other options are to visit the nearby Cabecar Indian Rancho, for an introduction to the local indigenous culture, or hike to the closest farming community to experience a bit of rural Costa Rican life. Outdoor adventure options include the Canopy Adventure Tour, which takes you gliding between treetop platforms on cables, or tropical canyoning, which combines hiking, rock climbing and rappelling. If you prefer the water, you can paddle down a stretch of the Pacuare River in an inflatable duckie. Hikers have several options to choose from: the Bajo del Tigre & Nairi Awari Reserve Hike, which combines visits to the two nearest communities with rainforest hiking; the Cabecar Indian Tour, a more demanding hike to an isolated indigenous home deep in the forest; or the Ancient Trail and Hidden Waterfall Hike, which heads higher into the mountains to a waterfall, taking most of the day.

Overnight at Pacuare Lodge in Suite with breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

Day 5:

Mid-morning: one of our representatives will be waiting for you to accompany you to the Arenal Volcano area, where you can relax at the hot springs of your hotel. Find all our recommendations and top activities to do in La Fortuna in your AZORA GUIDE.

Overnight at Hotel Tabacon with breakfast included.

Day 6 & 7:

After breakfast, we will pick you up to start your staying in Arenal with a little rush of adrenaline and an unforgettable experience. The clear water river in La Fortuna is fed by the pristine waters of several private cloud forest reserves in Monteverde and is surrounded by lush rainforest, natural volcanic hot springs, waterfalls and forested canyons that measure upwards of 700 feet (213 m) in height. In other words, the Peñas Blancas River is an indisputable scenic adventure. Much of the river is relatively calm, but parts boast class II through IV rapids. Most visitors to the river enjoy a calm safari float to take advantage of the hot springs, waterfalls and abounding wildlife which includes monkeys, sloths, river turtles, crocodiles, iguanas and many bird species.

Overnights at Hotel Tabacon with breakfasts included.

Day 8:

Mid-morning: one of our representatives will be waiting to accompany you to the magical Danta Beach in the northwestern shoreline of Costa Rica: this picturesque region opens a doorway to flat lands, green mountains and rich foliage. Because of the unique climate, the area boasts a tremendous diversity of terrain, from dense rain forests to airy deciduous forests, towering active volcanoes to lush sugarcane fields, and thick lagoons to untouched beaches.

Overnight at Casa Chameleon with breakfast included.

Day 9:

We will leave you at leisure to have the chance to enjoy the beach, the hotel facilities and enjoy every single moment of your stay.

Overnight at Casa Chameleon with breakfast included.

Day 10:

Ready for the world’s most beautiful sunset of the Pacific Coast? The signature catamaran experience departs daily from a beach near by your place. The tour allows time for everything. You will be able to enjoy the exhilarating performance of a catamaran sailing along the coastline to one of the secluded beaches only accessible by boat, lounge in the sun, use their kayaks, swim and snorkel in the warm tropical water while spotting dolphin, rays and reef fish. Their friendly, professional crew will ensure your comfort and safety during this spectacular journey along the Guanacaste coast, a trip you’ll be sure to remember and the perfect prelude to a memorable last evening.
